About

Big-studio people. Boutique attention.

SOMA is a literal name: soma is Portuguese for “sum.” We add up people who came from the big studios in a lean structure, and you talk to the people who decide and the people who make it. First we understand what the story needs; then how many seconds, which aspect ratio and which screen.

Portrait of Luan Ferraz

Luan Ferraz

Founding partner · Director

Director, cinematographer and editor: at SOMA, he is the one who turns the brief into film language. In his personal portfolio, films for McLaren, Mastercard, Prime Video, Mercado Livre, Pátria, Ford and Nissan; at SOMA, the Petrobras series.

Portrait of Gustavo Canzian

Gustavo Canzian

Partner · Client service and operations

Looks after the client from brief to delivery: scope, schedule, budget and the internal approval of every film. He brings ten years of audiovisual work and marketing, agency-side, in-house and for US companies, so he knows the buyer's side.

Mr Claude

AI assistant · Not a partner (yet)

Researches references, transcribes interviews, logs the footage and checks the budget spreadsheet for the third time without complaining. He does not direct, does not run camera and does not pick the take — that is still done by people.

The partners' work

The same partners,
before SOMA.

Work Luan and Gustavo signed outside SOMA. It is here because it shows the standard each of them brings to SOMA's projects.

To be clear: none of these films are SOMA productions.

The network

We add people as the film needs.

Beyond the partners, SOMA works with a network of independent professionals we know from set, not from a résumé. People we have shared late nights in the edit and rain on location with.

Cinematography, editing, color, sound, motion, art direction, casting, screenwriting, original score, drone, Steadicam, stills, subtitling and finishing.
